About Us

Anderson Hill was started in 1977 by two partners, an artist and a framer, with a small gallery and framing workshop in High Street, Kingston upon Thames. The quality of work and service at realistic prices led to the framing business expanding into trade work for other galleries, institutions and businesses. Previous and current customers include suburban and West End galleries, institutions including The British Library, Victoria and Albert Museum, Royal Horticultural Society, British Transport Police, and businesses including Disney Corporation, Nikon UK, and several major hotel chains.

We relocated to Cambridge Road in 1988 and in the nineties, through an association with LCA Corporate art and subsequently Elstone Hayes Associates, we got involved in art, framing and installation on cruise ships, working on most of the Royal Caribbean ships including Voyager of the Sea, at that time the largest passenger vessel afloat. We have worked also with Cunard, P.& O., Saga Cruises and Thomson Tui.

At one extreme, we mounted and framed 2,580 large pictures for Voyager cabins and at the other extreme we stretched and framed a specially commissioned tapestry by Dame Elizabeth Blackadder for P. & O. Arcadia, part of the public area art collection for which we designed a special framing system.

We are still based in Kingston upon Thames, now at 82 Richmond Road, although much of our volume framing work is carried out in rural Sussex, and despite being involved in major prestigious projects we still devote the same care and attention to framing a single certificate or family photo.
